PowerWash Simulator 2 PC Hardware Guide
Official requirements explained
The official minimum CPU list covers several entry-level processors, including the Intel Core i3 10100TE, Core i5 7400, AMD Ryzen 3 1300X, Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U and Core i7 8650U. These roughly correspond to entry-level chips from around 2017 to 2020. On our tier scale, the minimum CPU sits in the entry band near the Core i5-4570, which means any reasonably intact quad-core from the last several years should get the game running.
The official minimum GPUs are the GeForce GTX 1060 6GB, the mobile GeForce RTX 2060 6GB and the Radeon RX 5600M 6GB, all in the mainstream 1080p class. The recommended tier is an Intel Core i5-13600K or AMD Ryzen 7 7700X paired with a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB or Radeon RX 6700 XT 8GB, which sits in the upper mainstream range. The gap between minimum and recommended is mostly about GPU and CPU generation, and the recommended hardware gives you more headroom, especially in larger scenes or if you want higher settings.
Memory minimum is 8GB and recommended is 16GB. Storage minimum is 8GB and recommended is 16GB. The publisher does not require an SSD.
Recommended builds for three budgets
The entry build pairs a GeForce GTX 1660 or RTX 3050 with a Ryzen 3 3100 or Core i3-10100F and 16GB of RAM. It clears the basic bar of the recommended tier and suits players who mainly play at 1080p, have a tight budget and do not need high settings.
The mainstream build uses a Radeon RX 6700 XT or GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB with a Ryzen 7 7700X or Core i5-13600K and 16GB of RAM. It lines up directly with the official recommended spec and is the best value for most players, balancing 1080p and 1440p well.
The high-end build uses a GeForce RTX 5070 or Radeon RX 9070 with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D or Core i9-14900K and 32GB of RAM. This is well above the official recommendation and suits players who want higher resolutions, higher settings, or who run streaming and other apps at the same time.
Graphics settings with the biggest impact
In a cleaning and simulation game like this, the most demanding options are usually shadows, volumetric lighting and other light effects, plus object density in large scenes and view distance. Shadow quality and view distance are often the easiest to pull down without hurting the experience, so start them at medium and see whether the picture still looks good to you.
Ray tracing, if offered, is usually the heaviest option on the GPU and adds relatively little to this game's visuals. Unless lighting fidelity matters a lot to you, leave it off. Anti-aliasing and post-processing can usually stay at medium or default, since their cost is generally lower than shadows and lighting.
If your graphics card supports DLSS, FSR or XeSS, upscaling renders at a lower internal resolution and scales the image up, which often buys useful performance for a modest loss in image quality. Try the modes side by side to decide whether it is worth it for you.
Laptops and handheld PCs
Laptop GPUs often share a name with desktop cards but are limited by power budget and cooling, so they usually perform below their desktop namesakes. When buying or configuring a laptop, check the exact model suffix and the power limit (TGP), and make sure cooling works properly so the chip does not throttle. Running plugged in with a performance mode enabled generally gives the best results.
Handheld PCs such as the Steam Deck or ROG Ally are power-limited platforms, so you will usually need lower settings and resolutions and should make good use of the built-in performance and power controls. No verified handheld results are available for this title, so treat this as general guidance: start with low settings and adjust upward from there.
Storage and memory
Use dual-channel memory, meaning two modules of the same capacity, since this gives better bandwidth than a single large stick. The official minimum is 8GB and the recommended is 16GB. If you run other programs alongside the game, 16GB gives comfortable room, and 32GB mainly suits multitasking or high-end builds.
The recommended storage is 16GB. An SSD is not required, but it noticeably shortens load times and makes data-heavy moments feel smoother. A hard drive will still run the game, just with slower loading.
Leave enough free space for updates and save data so installation and day-to-day running are not affected.
