EDITORIAL POLICY

Editorial policy

This policy describes how FrameScope gathers data, writes and reviews content, uses AI, handles corrections and keeps advertising separate from its verdicts. It applies to every public page on frame-scope.com.

1. Sources

  • Game requirements: the minimum and recommended specifications on each game's official Steam store page. When a publisher updates its listing after a patch, the newer listing replaces the old one.
  • Hardware specifications: manufacturer product pages and specification sheets from NVIDIA, AMD and Intel (VRAM, memory type and bus width, power, core and thread counts, feature support).
  • Relative tiers: the GPU and CPU tier scores are editorial estimates built from those specifications and kept in a versioned table. They are relative positions, not benchmark results.
  • Benchmarks: FrameScope does not currently publish measured FPS. If measured data is added in the future, every figure will name its source and test conditions.

2. What we will not publish

We do not print an exact frame rate for a game and graphics card combination unless it was measured under stated conditions, and we do not describe an estimate as if it were a test. Real frame rates change with the scene, the CPU, memory configuration, laptop power limits, drivers, patches and upscaling settings, so a single number for an untested combination would look precise without being accurate. When the official requirements are too vague to compare (for example a line that only says “DirectX 12 compatible graphics card”), the page says the data is insufficient instead of guessing.

3. How AI is used and labelled

FrameScope uses large language models to help draft game guides and hardware guides. A draft is generated from structured inputs only: the official requirements, the hardware data in our database and the verdict produced by the deterministic engine. The model is instructed not to invent benchmark numbers, test results or personal experiences.

  • AI never decides a verdict. Hardware verdicts come from the rule-based engine described in the methodology, and the same input always produces the same result.
  • Pages whose text was drafted with AI assistance say so near the content, together with the date of the last review.
  • Long-form articles in the Guides section are planned and edited by the editor; AI may be used as a drafting aid there as well, under the same review rules.

4. Review before publication

Long-form articles in the Guides section and the methodology are written and reviewed by the editor, Game Panda (電玩小熊貓), before publication. Per-game guides and GPU/CPU buyer notes are drafted with AI (Claude) strictly from our structured data — official requirements, hardware specifications and tier scores — and are published only after automated checks pass: every required section is present and long enough, hardware names exist in our database, and the text contains no FPS figures, "measured" or benchmark claims, version numbers or AI boilerplate. The editor spot-checks samples of these pages and fixes or withdraws anything reported or found to be wrong. Pages without an approved, sufficiently detailed guide remain reachable for visitors but are marked noindex.

5. Corrections

If you find an error, email contact@frame-scope.com with the page URL and, if possible, a link to the official source (a Steam store page, publisher patch notes or a manufacturer specification page). We reply within 7 days. Confirmed factual errors are fixed on the page and the page's update date changes; if a correction changes a verdict or a recommendation in a meaningful way, a short note on the page says what changed. We do not silently rewrite conclusions.

6. Advertising and affiliate disclosure

FrameScope is funded by Google AdSense. Ads are shown only on pages with substantial content, such as the home page, list pages with an introduction, the GPU hierarchy and the guides, and they are always visually separated from the content. Advertisers and hardware manufacturers cannot buy, review or influence tiers, verdicts or articles. FrameScope does not currently use affiliate links or accept sponsored posts; if that changes, the links or sponsorship will be labelled where they appear and this policy will be updated.

7. Update cadence

  • Game requirements are re-imported from Steam on a regular schedule, and on request when a reader reports a change.
  • New graphics cards and processors are added to the database and the tier table after their specifications are published.
  • Guides are reviewed when the underlying requirements, tiers or the methodology change, and each page shows its last update date.
