DELTARUNE PC Hardware Guide
Official requirements explained
The official minimum graphics requirement is a 128 MB GPU that supports DirectX 9 or OpenGL. That roughly corresponds to very old integrated graphics, around the level of an Intel HD Graphics 4000. The publisher did not list a minimum CPU, so that item is not specified. Minimum RAM is 2 GB and storage is 1 GB. No SSD is required.
The recommended graphics requirement is a 512 MB DirectX 9 or OpenGL GPU, which sits in the same performance band as the minimum, so the GPU step barely changes. Recommended RAM rises to 4 GB, storage stays at 1 GB, and again no recommended CPU or SSD is listed. In practice, the gap between minimum and recommended is mostly about memory, not graphics power.
Overall the hardware bar is very low. If your PC runs everyday office software and web browsing without trouble, it will almost certainly run this game. Keep in mind that official requirements are a baseline, and stability can still depend on your operating system and driver versions.
Recommended builds for three budgets
The entry build suits players who want to spend as little as possible or who already own an older machine. We pair an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB with an AMD Ryzen 5 3500X and 16 GB of RAM. That is well above the official recommended level for this game, and it leaves room for background apps and screen recording.
The mainstream build suits people who want a PC that also handles other games over the long run. We suggest an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 8GB or a GTX 1660 Super, an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, and 16 GB of RAM. This tier also sits comfortably above the official recommendations and should leave margin for later updates.
The high-end build suits players who want one machine for demanding games, multitasking and high-resolution displays. We suggest an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, an Intel Core i5-14600K and 32 GB of RAM. For DELTARUNE alone this is far more than enough, but it makes sense if the PC is used for much heavier titles or streaming.
Graphics settings with the biggest impact
DELTARUNE is a 2D-style RPG with a light official requirement profile, so the settings that normally cost the most in modern 3D games, such as shadow quality, volumetric effects, ray tracing and view distance, usually matter little here, and many of them may not appear at all. If the game offers a resolution or scaling option, raising it is the change you are most likely to notice, but at this visual level the load is generally modest.
Keep vsync or a frame cap enabled if you want steadier pacing, especially during battle transitions. If your monitor refreshes faster than 60 Hz you can adjust this to suit your display, but there is no need to chase numbers.
Upscaling technologies such as DLSS, FSR and XeSS work by rendering at a lower internal resolution and reconstructing the image at your target resolution. They are aimed at demanding 3D games, so you will rarely need them here. If the game feels heavy on older hardware, first update your GPU driver and the game itself, then consider lowering the resolution.
Laptops and handheld PCs
A laptop GPU and a desktop GPU with the same name can perform quite differently. Laptop versions are usually limited by power budgets and cooling, so they fall behind their desktop counterparts. For a game with requirements this light, a modest laptop GPU is usually enough, but choose a model with good cooling that holds steady performance in its performance power mode.
Handheld PCs such as the Steam Deck or ROG Ally are full PC platforms with generally capable hardware, and their specifications sit well above the official requirements, so the game should be playable on them. We do not have Steam Deck verification data, however, so we cannot give a compatibility rating. Check user reports and official platform support before you buy or play.
On a handheld, use the power adapter when you can, and adjust power limits and fan modes to balance stability, heat and battery life during long sessions.
Storage and memory
The official recommended RAM is 4 GB and the minimum is 2 GB. Those figures cover the game itself, while the operating system and background programs take additional memory. We suggest at least 16 GB so the game and everything else run smoothly. Dual-channel memory raises overall system bandwidth. It will not change much for this game, but it is worth getting right when you build or upgrade.
The official storage requirement is 1 GB, but leave extra room for updates and save data. An SSD is not required, yet it shortens load times and makes the game open faster. If your budget allows, use an SSD. An HDD will still run the game, just with slower loading.
Finally, keep some free space on your system drive. A nearly full drive can cause failed updates and instability.
