Bellwright PC Hardware Guide
Official requirements explained
The official minimum for Bellwright lists an Intel Core i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB, AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB or Intel ARC A580 8GB graphics card, 16GB of RAM and 24GB of storage. The publisher does not require an SSD. On our tier scale, the minimum GPUs sit roughly in the entry to mainstream 1080p range, and the minimum CPUs are older mainstream parts such as the Ryzen 5 3600. In practice, the minimum is the threshold for the game to launch and run at basic settings, not a target for high detail or steady frame pacing.
The official recommended spec lists an Intel Core i5 13600 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB, AMD Radeon RX 6600 8GB or Intel ARC A770 16GB, with the same 16GB of RAM and 24GB of storage. The recommended GPU corresponds to a mainstream 1080p class card of the RTX 3060 generation, and the recommended CPU to the modern mainstream class represented by the Ryzen 5 5600. The gap between minimum and recommended is mostly about GPU and CPU generation and performance; RAM and storage requirements do not change. If your system meets the recommended spec, you have more room to run the game at the mainstream settings the publisher targets. If you only meet the minimum, plan on lower settings and resolution.
The official listings do not say what resolution or preset they assume beyond those tiers, and we do not have further official data on that. If you plan to play at 1440p or higher, or want heavier effects, treat the recommended spec as your starting point and adjust from there.
Recommended builds for three budgets
The entry build suits players who want to keep costs low while still running the game smoothly. Suitable graphics cards include the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 8GB, Intel Arc A580, AMD Radeon RX 5700, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 12GB, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 8GB and AMD Radeon RX 6600. Suitable processors include the AMD Ryzen 3 3100, Intel Core i3-10100F, AMD Ryzen 3 3300X, AMD Ryzen 5 4500, AMD Ryzen 5 3500X and Intel Core i5-10400F. This tier covers the range between the official minimum and recommended specs. Pair it with at least 16GB of RAM.
The mainstream build is the choice for most players and sits in the official recommended range. Graphics options include the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 8GB, AMD Radeon RX 6600, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, Intel Arc A750, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB and AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT. Processors include the AMD Ryzen 5 8600G, AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Intel Core i7-11700K, AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Intel Core i9-11900K, AMD Ryzen 7 8700G, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X and AMD Ryzen 5 7500F. Start with 16GB of RAM, and move to 32GB if your budget allows or you run other software alongside the game.
The high-end build is for players who want high resolutions and heavier settings, or who run other demanding work at the same time. Graphics options include the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090, AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. Processors include the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, AMD Ryzen 9 9900X, Intel Core i7-14700K, AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Intel Core Ultra 7 265K, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Intel Core i9-13900K. This tier sits well above the official recommended spec. Use 32GB of RAM here.
Graphics settings with the biggest impact
In a game that mixes strategy, simulation and action like this one, the settings that usually cost the most are shadows, volumetric lighting and fog, vegetation and crowd or simulation density, and view distance. Higher shadow quality and resolution add a lot of GPU load, volumetrics and fog are expensive to compute, and large settlements with many NPCs and objects put pressure on the CPU. If your system meets the recommended spec, lowering these to medium is usually a sensible balance between visuals and smoothness.
Ray tracing, where offered, is typically among the most demanding options. Unless you have a newer high-end card, leave it off and spend the budget on settings that have a bigger effect on stability. Anti-aliasing and post-processing can often be dropped with little visible loss in actual play.
Upscaling technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR and Intel XeSS work by rendering at a lower internal resolution and reconstructing the image to your display resolution. In general, the quality modes of these techniques keep the image close to native while freeing up GPU headroom. Check the in-game menu for which options are available on your hardware. We do not have game-specific testing data for this.
Laptops and handheld PCs
Laptop GPUs often share a name with desktop cards, such as an RTX 3060, but they usually perform lower. The main reasons are lower power limits (TGP) and tighter cooling, which can cause throttling during long sessions. When evaluating a laptop, look at the GPU's power specification rather than the name alone. The same logic applies to the official specs: a laptop GPU that matches a recommended-tier desktop card may only deliver something close to the minimum tier in practice, so start with conservative settings.
Handheld PCs such as the Steam Deck or ROG Ally have CPUs and GPUs that generally trail contemporary desktop mainstream parts. They are best run at lower resolutions and detail, with upscaling and frame limits used to keep the experience steady. We do not have verification data for the Steam Deck, so we cannot give a compatibility rating for it. Check what other owners report and adjust the in-game options yourself.
Whether on a laptop or a handheld, keep the cooling clear, use mains power for long sessions, and clean the vents regularly to avoid heat-related slowdowns.
Storage and memory
The official memory requirement is 16GB, the same for both minimum and recommended, so 16GB is the baseline for play. If you keep a browser, chat apps or streaming tools open, 32GB gives you more room. When building, make sure your RAM runs in dual-channel mode by installing it in the slot pairs marked on your motherboard, since this raises memory bandwidth and helps overall smoothness.
The official storage requirement is 24GB, which covers the base install. The real footprint grows with updates and any add-on content, so leave extra space free, especially if the game keeps receiving updates. We do not have official figures for future update sizes, so we cannot estimate them precisely.
An SSD is not required by the publisher, but it noticeably shortens loading times, which matters for a game with frequent scene and data loading. If your budget allows, install the game on an SSD. A traditional hard drive will still run the game, but expect longer waits when loading.
